J.S. Bach: Passion According to Saint John

The performance will be at Mother AME Zion Church in Harlem, the oldest Black church in New York State, founded in 1796 and nearly as old as the work itself. During the years of the Underground Railroad, Mother Zion was referred to as a “Freedom Church” for its active participation in the network. Offering this great music in local churches brings the music closer to all audiences.
